New Book Launch - The Future History of Mumble & Jumble

Hi there,
Our names are Mumble and Jumble, and we’re the two main characters in The Future History of Mumble and Jumble. Series One. This is a nine-episode series of lively and fun children’s books that – as well as telling our adventures – deal with difficult childhood issues like bullying and ADD.

Our creators Gabi Plumm and Liam Phillips reckon our stories might be a real hit amongst young and older readers. Our books have initially been created as e-books available for sale via download from our website www.MumbleAndJumble.com. There are also MP3 versions, FABULOUS GAMES and HUGELY EXPANSIVE TEACHER RESOURCES which are on their way. (Have a look at our site and see for yourself!).

Our future history has only just begun of course, so Gabi and Liam have already started writing SERIES TWO. We’ve already got hopes for merchandising and even worldwide publishing, speaking tours and workshops. Particularly around ‘WRITING A 230 PAGE BOOK IN JUST 2 MONTHS’.

So let us tell you a bit more about us and our stories. Well Jumble has “A Devilish Distraction” (ADD) which causes his mind to be a jumble at times. Mumble is similarly afflicted although her distraction shows through as obsessive tidiness in her life, room and schoolwork. (Oh and she mumbles, hence the name Mumble).

The fun begins when we start living opposite each other in our delightfully named Wishonacloud Close. The clever names in our stories are one of the many charms – names of people, foods and places all raise a smile and definitely add to the appeal. Complex themes like Attention Deficit Disorder, speech impediments, abusive relationships, adoption and gastric problems are presented in child-like ways, interwoven with typical childhood adventures and humour. The books are targeted at children aged from about 7 to 14 although older teens and even adults will enjoy their simple messages and easy-going storyline. The books are also filled with normal things to which kids can relate – single parent families, children’s birthday parties, school excursions, unusual teachers and eccentric bus drivers … and issues like schoolyard bullies.
