I’ve been playing with Access tools since 2013, and have been an Access facilitator since 2014.  

A year and a half before I found Access, I was collapsed on the front lawn of the house I had with my husband, sobbing, and ready to go black-out drink in a full bathtub so I could pass out and drown.  I was totally finished.  I had struggled with feeling happy for almost 37 years, and my relationship was incredibly hard for me.

It was honestly the random thought of what it would be like to take my water-logged dead body out of an iron tub and down a narrow staircase after I was gone that was just enough of an interrupt to pause my plans and still my tears.  And two days later, a friend of mine who found out I was struggling gave me her appointment to a lady that began to save my life.  For a year and a half, she was my lifeline.  I saw her 3 times a week.

But then we moved.  Far from her.  And the old feelings started coming back.  My old triggers were still there.

I started actively searching.  There just had to be a way to be happy without needing to see a professional 3 times a week.

That’s when I found it.  Two words on an old friend's Facebook profile, Access Consciousness.   And even though I had no idea what they meant, or what Access was even after visiting the website, it would not let me go, and I ended up finding a facilitator near me who ran the Bars.

I was not a bodywork person.  If Bars had come into my life at any other time, I would not have been interested.  But it wasn’t any other time and I was desperate and willing to try anything, even someone touching my head.  

It’s almost impossible for anyone to describe how they feel after a Bars session. It’s so different for everyone.  The worst case scenario is that you feel like you had an incredibly relaxing day at the spa.  But the best case is that your whole life changes.

I was a best case scenario.

I was staggered after.  I felt like I was floating.  10,000 pounds lighter.

And thankfully, the facilitator also used the verbal tools with me during the session:  the things we ‘worked on’… changed… during the session, stayed different after.

Used to seeing someone multiple times a week to stay emotionally even-keel, I did what I knew to do and booked more sessions. Until I found out you could take the one day class which would get you to the four day class where you could learn the verbal tools.  And I did that.

The 4 day class, Foundation, took me a little longer to choose.  It was more money than I’d ever spent on anything, and so I waited until the night before to use my last bit of credit to choose it.  

But in that 4 days, I changed more than I had in 20 years of psychotherapy and EMDR and psychiatry and hypnosis and BIE and nutrition.  Everything in that class felt like confirmations of things I’d known for AGES.  And thing after thing after thing after thing kept being another thing that wasn’t wrong about me.

It was uncanny how much was unraveling.

And then I found out you could be a facilitator of the same tools.

I ran.

I became a facilitator in 8 months.

And I’ve been creating my business with people, in their lives, ever since.
