What to Bring:

  • The UV index may be very high, bring  UV-blocking sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat with a brim if you plan on being outside.

  • A good rule of thumb is to cover your shoulders and knees.

  • Natural materials like linen and cotton. Choose an airy drape —midi-skirts, maxi dresses, and harem pants. If you want to wear form-fitting bottoms, like leggings or skinny jeans, pair them with longer tunics or dresses to cover your behind.

  • Hemlines may be more conservative in New Delhi, Indian women often wear colorful saris or tunics, so don’t be afraid to pack prints and jewel tones.

  • No matter the season, our number one recommendation is a scarf, shawl, or pashmina. You can wear it as a headscarf in a mosque, over your mouth during dust storms or on bad air quality days, as a shawl to cover bare shoulders, or as an actual scarf during cooler evenings. Pro tip: Pack one and buy the rest in New Delhi as souvenirs.

About New Delhi

New Delhi, The capital of India, is known for its mouth watering gastronomical experience from street food to fine dining experiences. You can also enjoy shopping from street bargains to high end luxury brands.

Some places you could visit:

Dilli Haat - An exciting blend of handicrafts from all over India, food, and cultural and music performances. Open: 10.30 am to 10 pm

Khan Market - A popular U-shaped shopping destination, a storehouse of the city’s most prestigious book shops, opticians, grocers, tailors, home décor stores, with a range of cafes, restaurants, bakeries and street-food including Big Chill and Khan Chacha. Open: 11 am - 11pm

Vasant Kunj Neighbourhood - a great option for shopping and eating. Some of the best restaurants are here.

DLF Promenade in Vasant Kunj is a one-stop-shop for shopping, entertainment, and eateries. It also has a PVR and an open-air space called The Hub (with a giant LED screen, Smoke House Deli and Mocha Arthouse on either side), which is the centre of all its fun activities and events.

For entertainment, there’s Smaaash, which is a cool gaming centre and a PVR Director’s Cut movie hall.

DLF Emporio Mall - the place to be if you want to buy all things luxe. From Dior, Armani to Versace and Gucci, they have it all. There aren't a lot of dining options here, but we’d recommend SET’Z which is a multi-cuisine, fine-dine restaurant with gorgeous outdoor seating. Location : Open: 11 am - 8 pm
