First fly into either Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Cairns airport, then fly direct to Ayers Rock Connellan Airport (AYQ) also known as Uluru or Yulara.
From Ayers Rock Airport, Uluru is a 20 minute drive.

If you'd prefer a drive adventure, here are a few more options:

Fly into Alice Springs Darwin Airport (ASP) and drive the 470 km to Uluru in about 5 hours.
Drive from Adelaide to Alice Springs in about 3 days, then Alice Springs to Uluru in another 5 hours.
Drive from Brisbane to Uluru - approximately 37 hours of driving

Layers are key as the temps fluctuate throughout the day. March temperatures vary between a high-temperature of 33°C (91.4°F) and a low-temperature of 17°C (62.6°F).

Wear light, breathable layers during the day (shorts, leggings, t-shirts, etc.).
Bring a few long light-weight layers as they protect your skin from the sun and scratches from bushes or rocks.
