Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

While you move through Vancouver International Airport, you may notice a large and diverse collection of art representing British Columbia's culture and landscape.

 

Vancouver International Airport offers a variety of transportation options including:

  • Rideshare (Lyft and Uber)

  • Taxi  - airport to Downtown/Canada Place area of venue approximately $46.00 CDN

  • Car Rental

  • Public Transportation - Vancouver has a fabulous rapid transit rail system called the SkyTrain!

    Sky-Train from YVR to Downtown Vancouver/Waterfront Station

    - Look for the Yellow 'Train to City' icon on overhead signs
    - Purchase a 2 Zone ticket by credit card, cash, or Compass Card.
    - Trains arrive every 7 minutes
    - It takes approximately 25 minutes to Waterfront Station ( 12 stops)
    - Exit on Cordova Street
    - Pinnacle Hotel is approximately 700 meters, a 10 minute walk or short cab ride from the Waterfront Station
     

 

 

Canadian Currency is the Canadian Dollar ($ CAD) There are 100 cents (¢) in a dollar.
  • Coloured Paper bills commonly used are $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100.
  • Coins
    $1 (called a Loonie as it displays a Canadian Loon, which is a water bird, on one side)
    $2 (called a toonie - two loonies in Canadian humour)
    also 5¢, 10¢, and 25¢

ATMs are available and credit cards are widely accepted. Credit cards with “plus” option allow cash withdrawal.

*For ease of payment, please let your credit card companies know where and when you will be traveling.

Depending on where you are traveling from, you may require an electronic travel authorization (eTA), a visitor visa, or just a passport.

October temperatures in Vancouver range from an average daytime of 13°C (57°F) to an overnight of 6°C (43°F).
