Shawna Peters

Shawna Peters, a proud member of the Sto:lo, Cree, and Coast Salish Nations, from the City of Chilliwack, BC, Canada, embracing a global perspective. Her passion extends beyond Canadian borders, making her a versatile facilitator ready to share her expertise wherever the journey takes her.

For more than 8 years, Shawna has been a dedicated practitioner of Access Consciousness. Introduced to this transformative approach by a family friend from San Francisco, she remains eternally grateful for the profound impact it has had on her life.

In 2015, Shawna embarked on her formal journey with Access Consciousness, swiftly becoming an Access Bars Practitioner and Access Bars Facilitator the same year. These qualifications empower her to facilitate Access Bars classes. In 2023, she became an Access Consciousness Certified Facilitator, enabling her to lead Foundations classes and more.

Complementing her Access Consciousness journey, Shawna pursued studies at the Native Education College in Vancouver, BC. There, she successfully graduated from the Family and Community Counselling Program, accumulating invaluable experience working with Indigenous Youth in Vancouver. Her commitment to mental health advocacy further extended to her involvement at a Mental Health Advocacy Center.

Shawna's most recent endeavor involved significant contributions to a gas and oil project, where she served as an Environmental Inspector/Indigenous Monitor. This role provided her with invaluable experience, allowing her to merge her passion for environmental stewardship with her dedication to Indigenous advocacy.

In her capacity as an Environmental Inspector/Indigenous Monitor, Shawna demonstrated a deep commitment to ensuring that environmental regulations were upheld while also advocating for Indigenous rights and perspectives within the project's framework. Her work in this capacity further solidified her reputation as a conscientious professional with a keen eye for detail and a steadfast dedication to her community and the environment.

This experience represents yet another facet of Shawna's diverse skill set and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in her field and beyond.

Currently residing in Chilliwack, Shawna's life has been profoundly shaped by the tools of Access Consciousness. Eager to share this transformative journey with others, she marvels at the potential these tools hold for changing lives.

 

Shawna acknowledges the honor of living, working, and thriving on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Stó:lō, Coast Salish peoples, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) people, along with all other Indigenous communities within the BC Canada Region.
